  My husband started experiencing low back which radiated down to his right leg. He also complained of numbness in the right toe. After imaging showed no contraindication, I assessed his condition and showed him some exercises that may help ease his symptoms. When it was clear that I was not being effective, I started looking for a physical therapist who specializes in the McKenzie Method. I found Kay Scanlon through Healthgrades. After the first visit, my husband was 70% better. He came once weekly for 4 weeks and by the fourth visit, was discharged as he was 100% better. He was completely off pain medication after the 3rd PT session. Kay was also very generous with her knowledge and have taught me a lot about back pain assessment and management within the 4 treatment sessions. As a physical therapist, I was so impressed by Kay that I have been considering taking McKenzie courses to help me become a more effective therapist.

  My lower back pain started about 8 months ago and I was hoping that it would go away on its own. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. I came to Kay two weeks ago and after showing me several exercises and techniques to alleviate my pain, I am almost pain free. I highly recommend Kay for anyone with back pain.

  Dr. Scanlon simply the finest PT, I've worked in rehabing my failed back. Having had multiple spine surgeries and a complex neuropathic pain sydrome, Dr Scamlon had her work cut out for her. I believe her mastery of bio-mechanics and the McKenzie Institute's evidence based based approach were critical to my success. In addition to her extraordinary competence, she is a compassionate,professional that very clearly keeps her patient's goals in mind.
